Let me say this right now. Your music is not good enough for these headphones. Remember that $4 milkshake from Pulp Fiction? That only scratches the surface of how utterly awesome the UltraSone Pro 900 headphones are. From listening to MP3’s to working in Pro Tools, I was honestly blown away by the sheer magnitude of quality that the Pro 900’s achieve.

The Pro 900’s come with a really nice hard shell case, two styles or cord, and two styles of velvet ear padding. They even come with a demo CD that contains various genres of music and sound effects. They are constructed of a thick plastic and plush velvet foam and feel very solid and comfortable even after hours of extended use.

These headphones are basically a thesaurus for every positive descriptive term there is, they’re that incredible. Rich and balanced bass response is complimented by refined treble and mid range frequencies. Discerning ears will definitely hear differences in bit rates and levels of production quality of their MP3’s. That’s the thing, the Pro 900’s are so accurate and true that they’ll literally pick apart your music. You’ll notice flaws in recording techniques and appreciate subtle nuances that you’ve never heard before.

As I’ve mentioned in past headphone and earbud reviews, an important variable in gauging the quality of a headphone is going to be the source material you’re listening to. With today’s music listener using primarily MP3’s that have fluctuating compressions, it makes it more difficult to accurately judge what’s really going on.I was able to clearly tell when recordings and mixes were all over the place as well as when everything was tight and compact. For whatever it’s worth, it definitely made me more critical towards my judgement of recorded music. But a rare treat in that. Makes me wish I had had these twenty years ago!

The only thing I didn’t like about the Pro 900’s was the input jack. You need to attach the 3.5mm adapter to use it with any MP3 player and it ends up sticking out really far and can be slightly obtrusive. Other than that, these are the best headphones I have ever heard point blank, period. If they’re in your budget or you have to save up for a couple months to buy them, they will be one of the best things you can buy for yourself as a music lover. Even from an audio engineering standpoint, mixing and recording with the Pro 900’s was a sheer blast. I absolutely recommend the UltraSone Pro 900’s to everyone who has the cash to drop on some immensely amazing headphones.

The C905 is Sony Ericsson's first Cyber-shot slider and its most advanced camera phone yet. With an 8.1 megapixel camera and real camera flash amongst its cutting-edge capabilities, it offers easy photo-taking in a phone that derives its looks from a digital camera and offers the picture quality to match.

The camera features auto focus, face recognition, a new feature called Smart Contrast, image stabilization, BestPic, red-eye reduction, xenon flash as well as photoflash for both photos and videos.

The camera is clearly the main selling point with the C905, but Sony Ericsson haven’t skimped on other features. The C905 has GPS, WiFi, HSDPA high-speed data, stereo Bluetooth and an FM radio.The display is a 2.4″ 240 x 320 pixel QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT display, and tucked behind it is a slide-out numeric keypad. There’s also a version of the Access Netfront web browser, push email support, instant messaging and of course a multimedia player.

The Sony Ericsson C905 measures 104 x 49 x 18 (19.5) millimetres, and weighs a massive 136 grams. It'll be available in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black in early Q4, with a bundled 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2.

It comes in three variants, two with full support for UMTS and HSDPA in the certain regions (even America). The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks.

The C905’s GPS can be used with Google Maps or Wayfinder, but it’s not clear what sort of satellite navigation options might be available as standard. As the C905 isn’t a smartphone, then the GPS functionality might be a little limited.

Samsung s30.

Samsung recently unveiled the Instinct s30 mobile phone, which on the outside looks like a smaller version of the original Instinct. However, the Instinct s30 is not really a mini Instinct.

Compared to the original Instinct, the s30 has a far sexier appearance. The curves around the edges make it more pleasing to look at compared to the blockish stature of the original Instinct. The 3.2-inch display with 432 x 240 resolution, however, leaves us begging for a much clearer screen. It takes quite a while to turn the power off, and the teeny-weeny 1GB microSD card slot makes it hard to eject. The saving grace in the Instinct s30's design is having a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack.
The Instinct s30 uses the similar OS to the original Instinct, which some users find disappointing. The icons on the main screen could not be customized, and the text messages still appear as a pop-up alert even when the message panel or web browser is loaded, making an utter nuisance. The built-in applications for MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, and Photobucket come as mildly impressive, but the applications found in BlackBerry App World come as superior. But when it comes to the basic tasks like typing a text message, making calls, and checking voicemail, users can definitely rely on the s30.

The biggest beef about the Instinct s30 is the expensive price tag. Getting this phone on contract with Sprint for $130 could leave you wanting. The mobile phone does not have a radio nor WiFi connectivity. The web browser features a large sidebar that appears as a waste of space, and it only appears fine for viewing mobile web pages (but not that good in web pages). It does not have a multi-touch feature or even an accelerometer.

The bottom line: The Samsung Instinct s30 would have been a great lower-end phone if it is promoted as such.

Sony Announces Two New Bluetooth Headphones: DR-BT100CX and DR-BT101

Whether you’re planning on listening to music or making calls, Sony has labelled its latest wireless headphone duo as perfect for either audio form.The DR-BT100CX and DR-BT101 are essentially the same thing: Bluetooth headphones capable of streaming music and voice calls from your handset into your ears. The main difference though is that BT100CX sports an in-ear design and BT101 looks like traditional headphones.
But several technical differences hide under their differently shaped exteriors. For example, the BT100CX earphones have 9mm driver units inside and are capable of a frequency response of 6Hz-23kHz, while the BT101 cans have more powerful 30mm driver units inside and a 14Hz-24kHz frequency response.

The UK ain’t no stranger to the credit crisis and nor is Orange, one of many cell phone carriers in the country island. So much so in fact that they’re offering an ultra cheap touchscreen, pay as you go phone, the Vegas. Available in bubblegum pink or black, the Vegas is £48.50 ($72 US) and sports a 2.4-inch screen, 1.3 megapixel camera, media player, FM radio, 128MB of built-in memory expandable by microSD card slot. It’s available now.If you're looking to hop on the touchscreen bandwagon on a budget, Orange has just uncovered a new wallet-friendly handset that might be right up your street.

At a credit crunching £48.50, the Vegas is the cheapest touch screen pay as you go handset in the UK, and is available in classic black or, exclusively to the folk at Orange, a bubblegum pink for the ladiesThe specs are pretty limited as you might expect, but for under £50 you'll get a 1.3 megapixel camera, a media player and built-in FM radio. The Shuttle X50, an all-in-one desktop with the low-power Intel Atom processor, is now available in the U.S. and Europe, the company announced Thursday. The X50 was first announced at CES in January.

It sports a dual-core Atom processor, 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, Windows XP Home Edition, 5.1-channel audio, a Web cam and built-in microphone, 4-in-1 card reader, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a 15.6-inch touch-screen display. It's priced at $599. The touchscreen all-in-one Atom-powered desktop is a growing category of Nettops, which are generally defined as low-cost, low-power desktops. Before Shuttle's product was announced, Asus had already released the EeeTop, which has very similar specs. MSI's version is called the WindTop. Though these have only just begun to trickle out to consumers, PC industry observers see this as a viable subcategory of the tired desktop market. Because of the influx of these inexpensive touch-screen Nettops, the overall category of all-in-one desktops--which includes the much pricier Apple iMac and HP Touchsmart--is expected to grow more than 80 percent during 2009.

I didn’t post leaked images or really anything related to the Nikon D5000 DLSR because, and to be frank, an articulating LCD ain’t all that and a bag of Doritos. Nonetheless, the semi-hyped DLSR got official today. Packed inside this camera, aside from the 2.7-inch Vari-angle LCD monitor, which Nikon says ‘encourages shooting with a fresh perspective’ (remember kids where there is smoke there is fire), is a 12.3 megapixel sensor with a max ISO of 3200, a myriad of auto focus options, face detect, 1280×720 video capture at 24 fps, 4fps burst mode and an SD card slot.

Sony Prices & Dates New NW-X1000 Series Touch Screen Walkman In Japan

Sony on Tuesday announced the Japanese pricing and release dates for its two Walkman NX-X1000 series media players first introduced at the start of the year at CES. The NW-X1050, which has 16GB of built-in flash memory, will cost the equivalent of about $403, while the 32GB NW-X1060 will cost $503. Either will be available in red or black when they are released on April 25th.

Both new-generation Walkmans are the first ever to use touchscreens and also sport built-in Wi-Fi that allows for browsing the web, downloading podcasts and viewing YouTube videos. A digital noise canceling feature uses software to filter out ambient noise. Integrated FM and 1Seg TV tuners provide mobile radio and TV, and similarly allow recording of content in markets that support the broadcasts.The players are seen as serious competition to the high-featured and popular Apple iPod products, specifically the iPod touch, with the standout features being their 3-inch OLED touchscreens which provide richer colors and have quicker response times than LCDs. Users can also control the operation of the players with more conventional side-mounted buttons that allow hands-free use.

The players support AAC, MP3 and WMA audio files as well as MPEG-4, H.264 and WMV videos; they should also be cross-platform and support at least basic drag-and-drop music loading in Mac OS X as well as sync in apps that support it. Samsung SGH-A657 toughs out everything, including its owner

Seems like Samsung and AT&T decided to go a little wild with their new Push to Talk mobile phone. The announced Samsung SGH-a657 is by its nature a squad leader. Figuratively of course, it is the sportiest mobile phone at the present moment. Samsung actually had to pick up military specification codes to design this tough guy. And as the result it meats them. It will be available pretty soon as AT&T has recently declared. Right in time I guess – just before the summer season when you might need it for camping whatever summer activity you prefer.

The sweetest thing about Samsung SGH-A657 is, as mentioned, military specification maintenance. Sounds and works great. Especially if you are really going to use it in extreme conditions of both – cold or heat. It will also tough out high humidity, dust, vibration and sun radiation. All that is nice to know, but we don’t normally choose a cell phone by this specs. As a civilian, SGH-A657 is also quite capable. It Supports 3G network, Push to Talk, Bluetooth v2.0, 128 MB expendable onboard memory, etc. The display only seems to be sacrificed. 176 x 220 TFT is not the thriller but yet, if we consider it as a secondary device for taking it out to rough places, it all starts to make perfect sense.

Sony Ericsson deserves a lot of credit for bringing music to cell phones. Though it was not the first company to develop the idea, its Walkman handsets have consistently combined a robust music player with admirable sound quality. And that was true a long time before the arrival of the ballyhooed Apple iPhone. Now the company has succeeded again with the Sony Ericsson W580i. Inside a sexy slider design are the usual high-end Walkman features, all of which deliver solid performance. The phone comes in white, black, and gray. We examined the gray model for this review but the features are the same on all models. AT&T has picked up the white model and is offering it at a very reasonable $79 with service. The W580i has a 1,000-contact phone book with room in each entry for five phone numbers, an e-mail and Web address, a job title, company name and work address, a birthday, and notes. You can save contacts to groups and pair them with a photo and one of 19 polyphonic ringtones for caller ID. You also can select a video for callers and you can choose a pattern for the side-mounted lights. Other essentials include a vibrate mode, a voice memo recorder, text and multimedia messaging, an alarm clock, a calendar, a task list, a notepad, a timer, a speakerphone (usable after you make a call), a stopwatch, and a calculator.

Of course a phone like the W580i wouldn't be complete without such offerings as full Bluetooth (including a stereo profile), e-mail support, PC syncing, USB mass storage, a code memo for storing sensitive information, and USB cable support. The handset also capitalizes on its "Walkman" name by offering a number of fitness applications. There's a pedometer for running and walking, a sports trivia game, and a fitness trainer for tracking your workouts. There's even a bizarre yet interesting application that will let you calculate how long it would take you to walk to various world locations from your home city.Naturally, music is the main attraction on the W580i. Its Walkman player is nearly identical to that on other Walkman phones. Settings include an equalizer, playlists, stereo widening, and shuffle and loop modes. The interface is minimalist, but you can select a color skin and choose from one of two simple visualizations. The player also supports album art, but it won't recognize every song it plays. You also get an airplane mode for listening to your tunes with the phone transmitter off. Yet the W580i holds a new surprise with its "shake control" application. By holding down the Walkman button when music is playing you can advance to the next track by flicking your wrist. It works quite well and it's an attractive feature.

Loading music on the phone is relatively easy. The needed USB cable and the Disc2Phone software are included, so you're saved the pain of shelling out more money for a music kit. The Sony Ericsson software can be a bit clunky, so we're glad that you can also drag and drop music from your PC to the W580i. Internal memory is capped at a low 12MB, so it's advised you use a Memory Stick Micro card. You also get the standard FM radio and a Music ID application for identifying likable tunes you can't name. There's a quirky Music Mate application that shows the correct finger position for various guitar chords and piano chords while playing the notes. You can even use the phone as a metronome.
The 2-megapixel camera shoots photos in three sizes (2-megapixel, 1-megapixel, and standard VGA). Other options include two quality settings, three color effects, a night mode, white-balance and brightness adjustments, a digital zoom (unusable at the highest resolution), and four shutter sounds (there's no silent option). There's also a self-timer, a multishot mode, and an option for taking panoramic shots. The camcorder takes clips with sound and offers a set of editing options similar to the still camera. Clips meant for multimedia messages are capped at 30 seconds; otherwise you can shoot for as long as the memory permits. Picture quality was good, with acceptable colors and little blurriness, but we miss having a flash. The W580i comes with PhotoDJ and VideoDJ applications, and you can connect the phone directly to a photo printer.You can personalize the W580i with a variety of themes, wallpaper, screensavers and clock styles. As always, you can purchase more options and ringtones from Sony Ericsson via the WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser. Alternatively, the phone comes with a Music DJ application for composing your own ringtones. Gamers can enjoy two Java (J2ME) titles, The Sims 2 and Lumines Block Challenge, with additional titles available for purchase.

The yet unannounced Samsung S8000 specs seem quite the thing, especially having in mind the handset is rumored as the first Android phone by Samsung. As you may guess, it features a high-res display, full suite connectivity and sports Samsung's new 3D interface.
As we already informed you before, the Samsung S8000 is one of the upcoming full touch phones by the South Korean manufacturer. However, until now we knew for sure only one feature - the 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash.
The Russian retailer Euroset.ru however already posted the S8000 up for preorder along with a few juicy specs details, but shortly after that it was removed from their catalog. Anyway we managed to retrieve the full specs sheet, which of course is not official yet, but seems quite close.
The Samsung S8000 sports a 3.1-inch AMOLED touch display with WVGA resolution and 16 million colors, the 5 megapixel snapper with flash, FM radio with RDS, 2GB internal memory expandable via microSD slot and 3.5mm audio jack. The rich connectivity options include 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB. Finally its body is only 12mm thin.

Surprisingly, the Samsung S8000 will be running on the Android OS and the new Cube-like button hints of some new 3D graphical user interface changes. The video player will support both DivX and XviD formats.

Back to the online store affair, the Samsung S8000 was posted by Euroset.ru at a pre-order price of approx. 470 euro, but at this stage there is no official word or announcement on this handset.

LiveSpeakR Portable iPod/iPhone Speaker System

Here’s a company you might not of heard of: LiveSpeakR. They produce one product: an iPod/iPhone compatible portable speaker system. Two grilled speakers flank the dock on either side and tucked neatly at the center is a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and flip out stand. At first glance, the LiveSpeakR doesn’t warrant a double take but after plugging in my Gen 1 iPhone I can honestly say I’m a convert.

Don’t be misled by the LiveSpeakR’s tiny size, this thing can produce some serious sound. But before we get there let me tell you a bit about its feature set.

Front and center of the LiveSpeakR is an unusual docking system that smoothly accepts my iPhone into its clutches and works surprisingly well given its odd aesthetic. Rotating the dock 90 degrees into landscape mode resulted in the speakers automatically extending beyond the iPhones length allowing the speakers to continue to emit sound unobstructed. A little odd but smart as this allows the LiveSpeakR to be used in both orientations: landscape for movies or portrait mode for music. Instead of utilizing the standard ‘made for iPod’ 30-pin dock, LiveSpeakR opted for a simple headphone jack, which not only works with the Gen 1 iPhone and iPod Touch, but makes it compatible with other MP3 players on the market. The rechargeable Lithium battery placed squarely behind the dock, that not only centers the device’s weight but doubles as a stand thanks to the included flip out, height adjustable mount.

For now, you’ll have to settle with little to no details as the Verizon’s spokeswoman Brenda Raney would only confirm the original rumor to partner with a Netbook manufacturer, but wouldn’t reveal pricing, manufacturer or a street date for the deal.

Apple iPhone is the best portable media player ever. It browses the Web like a champ. Fun new interface for navigating within a mobile device. Huge screen looks amazing. Brilliant web browser. Syncs well with PCs and Macs. YouTube function is also fantastic.

Anyway, having said all that, the iPhone’s camera is still quite inferior compared to the current slew of camera phones out there. Most new Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones have a far better camera than that of Apple’s. But I was pleasantly surprised to see the 100 amazing iPhone photos compiled by Haje Jan Kamps of Photocritic.org. They are really amazingly good!

Nokia E63

The Nokia E63 is essentially a cut-down version of the existing Nokia E71. It is a 3G smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard and WiFi, aimed generally more at consumers than business people, and with a significantly lower price tag.Some obvious features that the E63 shares with the E71 are the QWERTY keyboard and the 2.36 inch QVGA display. As with the E71, the E63 is a 3G phone with WiFi support, microSD expandable memory, email and VPN support, a web browser, multimedia player, an FM radio and the Symbian S60 operating system. Austrian luxury designer and jeweler Peter Aloisson has designed the world’s most expensive iPhone. While diamond studded mobile phones are nothing new, but this mobile phone is somewhat different because it’s an Apple iPhone… it has a nice name too, iPhone Princess Plus.This could well be the world’s most expensive mobile phone!

The otherwise standard iPhone features a line of white gold around the edge of the phone and is also encrusted with 138 high-quality cut diamonds. The phone derives its name from the Princess cut used on 138 of the 318 diamonds. The rest of the 180 diamonds are brilliant cut. Needless to say, all diamonds used are of the top quality!

LG announced the new LG KS660 not too long ago. This is first touch screen phone by LG with a slot for two SIM-cards. LG points out this cellphone is designed for business people with a busy schedule, since both SIM cards are in the device, thus call waiting may be active for up to four calls at once.
Phones that allow using two SIM cards simultaneously are great and come in handy in a lot of situations. They allow you to carry only one, instead of two cellphones, which is necessary, in case you have a business number and a personal number for example. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions (made by Samsung), such devices are being developed by Chinese manufacturers with a doubtful reputation.That’s why the appearance of a dual SIM phone, coming from LG is a good news!

LG Dare

One of the most interesting fallouts of the Apple iPhone launch is the ever-growing trend of touch-screen phones. LG was one of the first manufacturers of this bunch with phones such as the LG Voyager and the LG Vu dazzling us with features that we couldn’t get on the iPhone, such as live mobile TV.Particularly with the hardware, LG Dare seems determined to differentiate itself from its iPhone competition, with helpful tactile feedback while typing, great handwriting recognition, video recording (in slow-mo, if you’d like) and even editing, and the beefed-up photo taking capabilities that a 3.2 megapixel camera and built-in flash provide. The basics aren’t too bad either, with a sturdy and bright screen, peppy EV-DO Rev A., expandable memory and an excellent 3.5mm headphone jack.

In short the LG Dare has an intuitive touch-screen interface, an advanced 3.2-megapixel camera, a full HTML browser, EV-DO Rev. A, and plenty of other powerful features. It also has excellent call quality.However, all is not sweet. The LG Dare’s touch interface has a slight learning curve. The smaller size of the Dare also results in a smaller space for the 3-inch-wide display. Though we were fine with it for most applications, but it deters us from enjoying the full HTML browser, since we have to do more scrolling than usual.

If there is one thing Nokia has gotten right with the Nokia N85, it would be the look and feel of this Nseries mobile phone. As you’d expect, N85 is the latest in the Nseries, and it is a high-end multimedia-rich phone. In many ways it’s similar to the N95, last year’s hit phone which set the benchmark for features. The N85 comes with many of the same features as the N95 but in a much thinner form factor. Yes, we simply love the slimmer design! Those of you who prefer your phones thin and feature-rich will agree with us!Design wise, the curved edges of N85 help to accentuate the impression of the phone’s smaller footprint in the hand. There’s a 2.6-inch QVGA screen, with the key difference being an OLED panel. OLED displays, which have better screen legibility while consuming less power, have been used before on Nokia’s S40 models. So it’s good that Nokia is now implementing this in the higher-end Nseries too!Like every other phones available today, N85 offers an MP3 player and a video player. HTC Touch HD, Touch 3G and Touch Viva

HTC launched three new phones recently - HTC Touch HD, Touch 3G and Touch Viva. The priciest of the three, and probably one of the priciest of all available phones, is the HTC Touch HD.

The HTC Touch HD has a 3.8-inch, 480×800 screen, plus other fancy specs such as a 5-megapixel camera, 288MB RAM and a Quallcomm MSM7201a 528MHz processor. All these hardware comes together to bring a nice and smooth feel to TouchFLO that’s faster than the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro and even the Touch 3G. No glitches or hiccups when scrolling horizontally through the menus.Anyway, inputting text with the onscreen keyboard wasn’t as good as the iPhone’s, but was still OK simply because of the huge screen.

That 3.8-inch screen is excellent. The HD will be a pretty good competitor to full screen touchscreen phones such as the Instinct and Sony Ericsson Experia.Meanwhile, HTC Touch 3G is slightly taller and thinner than its predecessor the original HTC Touch. The main improvements of the 3G version include a 3.2 megapixel fixed-focus camera, 3G with HSDPA, as well as 192 MB of RAM. HTC Touch 3G also features the newest version of the TouchFLO UI â€“ the TouchFLO 3D and GPS (with A-GPS support).

The quad-band HTC Touch 3G has a 2.8-inch display of QVGA resolution and runs on a 528 MHz Qualcomm CPU. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and a microSD card slot.The HTC Touch Viva which is mainly for developing markets, is also pretty cool. It runs on a 2D version of TouchFLO that’s amazingly fast, but keeps all the functionality of the original HTC Touch intact.

Looking like a simplified version of the TouchFLO 3D this interface is probably suited for working on PocketPCs with lower resolution screens and not so powerful CPUs.

Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition

Believe it or not, martial arts legend Bruce Lee still influences our world greatly despite dying in his prime long time ago. Nokia pays homage to this great man by releasing a special edition of its N96, known as the N96 Bruce Lee Edition. Perhaps, this is one of the thing tougher than Chuck Norris!The phone’s release in Hong Kong is complete with Bruce Lee’s image on the phone itself and other swag in the box. While the specifications of the Nokia N96 remain the same, the bundle includes several stylish accessories as a Bruce Lee doll, a wrist strap engraved with his name and a key holder that takes the shape of nunjaku.Anyway, looks like the N96 back panel imprint of the Bruce Lee face and signature is all that distinguishes the special edition from the normal edition, in terms of design. Motorola Krave ZN4

The new Motorola Krave ZN4 for Verizon Wireless offers the same basic design that resembles a Star Trek communicator, but it adds more features while offering innovative design tweaks to an intuitive and easy-to-use touch interface.

The sexy Motorola Krave ZN4 makes a great little portable TV, and incorporates some genuinely innovative touch-screen technology. Motorola have taken the Motorola MING concept a stage further and are aiming it at a market other than China. This is a good news for us. But in the other hand, Motorola KRAVE ZN4 is aimed at Verizon’s CDMA network in the US and anyone else who’s interested will just have to do without.

There are some problems of Motorola Krave ZN4. The bar for touch-screen phones has been raised considerably recently. With the iPhone, the LG Dare, the Samsung Instinct, the T-Mobile G1, and the BlackBerry Storm out there, just having a touch screen isn’t enough anymore. A handset needs to offer fresh software, too. And the Krave’s software feels oldâ€”functional but stale.

At first glance, the Motorola KRAVE ZN4 looks like just another touchscreen phone, but with an added plastic cover. But the clear plastic cover isn’t exactly what it appears to be, because the cover itself is touch-sensitive and has almost-invisible electronic circuitry embedded in it. This dual-touch technology is certainly very clever.

The KRAVE ZN4 presents a full menu on a large 2.8″ 240 x 400 pixel display, but close the lid and the menu options get much simpler and the effective display shrinks down to 240 x 320 pixels. So, most basic operations can be carried out with the cover closed. Another clever feature is that the “M” logo on the cover acts as a speaker when the ZN4 is open.

Other features include a 2MP camera, VCast Mobile TV (MediaFLO), HTML browser, EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, microSDHC memory card slot, and a microUSB port.

Pros: Responsive touchscreen interface. Cool design with the clear flip and invisible wiring. Great navigation features.

Cons: User interface feels half-baked. Some static during calls. Reception problems with V Cast Mobile TV service. Lousy Web browser with strange pointer tool. Aging messaging and music playback apps.

Samsung Pixon/M8800

Samsung’s 8 megapixel shooter known as the Pixon or M8800 is now official.

The M8800 is featuring the following specifications crammed into a body that measures just 13.8mm in thickness.

* GeotaggingSamsung have produced an email flyer with some pretty detailed pictures but they don’t add much to the specifications that we have already given except to add that the M8800 Pixon has face detection, shake reduction, high-speed video capture and surround sound.

Other camera functions include a 16x zoom, although digital zooms aren’t worth the circuit board they’re printed on. There’s a dual-power LED flash, which is good for those dark nights in pubs and clubs. To view the pictures, there’s a photo browser that uses the built-in accelerometer to automatically rotate images to the correct orientation.

Video is supported by “virtual 5.1 channel” surround sound, which frankly sounds very suspect to us. The M8800 is controlled with an 3.2-inch touchscreen, in a frame only half of an inch thick.

T Mobile G1 “GooglePhone”

The iPhone has dominated the smartphone landscape for more than a year. But now, Apple is about to meet a challenger in Google that could halt — or slow — its progress.

The T-Mobile G1 is the first smartphone to use the Android platform announced last year by Google and a number of other partners. Based on Linux, Android is an open source project that has hundreds of developers who work on different applications any phone utilizing Android can use.

T-Mobile and Google have partnered to bring us the Andriod handset, but the G1 integrates Google's online services into the operation of the handset, which will probably pose a direct challenge to both Windows Smartphones and the Apple iPhone.The G1 is being made by HTC, who has a long history in the market of Windows Mobile devices and has had partnerships with T-Mobile and several other carriers.

The G1 is very similar to a typical Windows smartphone in terms of specification - there’s a large 3.2″ 320 x 480 pixel touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel fixed-focus camera, 3G and 3.5G support, WiFi, GPS (plus a digital compass), microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity.

The main functions are controlled with a trackball (a little like modern BlackBerry devices), plus there’s a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Annoyingly, the T-Mobile G1 has one of HTC’s combined USB/audio sockets which means that you cannot use a standard headset without an adaptor. It’s quite a heavy device at 158 grams.

The processing power of the G1 clocks in at 528Mhz and features a Qualcomm MSM7201A which has 192MB of RAM. This specification is very similar to HTCâ€™s other Windows devices.

The G1 also support GPRS and EDGE data, and has both 802.11 b and g WiFi. The expected maximum talk time on 3G is around the 6 hour mark and has a whopping 16 day stand by time, partly due to the large 1150 mAh battery.

LG will soon offer a new handset for UK’s mobile users, the KS360, a fairly unremarkable looking phone at first glance, looks like a pretty standard slider phone when you first see it. But the unique selling proposition here is that the slide-out keypad has a full QWERTY arrangement rather than a standard number pad.

The KS360, with 102 x 51 x 17mm in size, has horizontal 2.4-inch screen and 240 x 320 pixel screen resolution, and underneath which is the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and the host of other keys and peripheral ports.LG KS360 is targeted towards youngsters who mostly use their mobile phones for texting, emailing and social networking.

The keyboard on the KS360 is interesting for a couple of reasons. On the positive side, the key spacing is very good which should help when composing messages. On the negative side, the layout is a little more creative than usual - the space bar is where the V and B keys usually are, so the bottom row of keys is split.

Samsung SGH-i780

Samsung i780 is one of the few recent models of the manufacturer, running on the Professional edition of the Windows Mobile 6 Operating System.

Samsung boasts of having some of the slimmest mobile phones in the world. The company has obviously applied its know-how to this i780 as it is a mere 12.9mm thick.

It has a large touch-sensitive display with resolution of 320 x 320, but yet utilizes the slim candybar form-factor with a full hardware QWERTY-arranged keyboard. The LCD takes up most of the front of the handheld.

The keypad buttons are longish in shape and well-spaced out with good tactile feedback. It makes for very good thumb typing, as good as what you’d find on Treo and BlackBerry devices.Samsung is innovative with the navigation method: there is no D-pad, joystick, or even trackball. There is a touchpad as in a portable computer, through which you must sweep a finger to control an on-screen pointer and press it to confirm. If this method is not your favorite, it can be turned into a 'virtual 4-way controller and in addition, the 2.55 320×320 pixels touch screen and the stylus are present, of course.

Samsung i780 supports triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz and single-band UMTS/HSDPA at 2100MHz. The connectivity side passes the test with WiFi of 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The long-rumored GPS is indeed included, which is fast becoming a standard on high-end smartphones.

The good: Attractive price; good QWERTY keyboard; convenient shortcuts; slim design; extra battery included.

The bad: Square screen may not work well with third-party programs; optical joystick not as fast as regular directional pad; bundled GPS app not optimized.

Motorola latest mid-range slider, the ZN200, has shown its face on the FCC pages recently.

This handset sporting such specs as a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video recording capability, Bluetooth, 2.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot, media player and built in FM radio. unlike the 5 megapixel Kodak shooter lavished on the MotoZINE ZN5, however a 2 megapixel camera will still take the images a user needs.

The ZN200 only brings dual-band GSM (850/1900MHz) to the table, however, which hints towards at either T-Mobile or AT&T Mobility here in the U.S. as possible carriers.Unfortunately that's about it spec wise as no other specs were mentioned about the MoroZINE ZN200 apart from the slight references to possible multiple audio and video formats, but as multimedia recording and playback was expected anyway on the ZN200 it's not that much of a surprise to see mention of video/audio support.

Samsung unveiled these days another dual SIM mobile phone, Samsung W599 (or Samsung SCH-W599), which will first be launched in China. The South Korean company seems to give
a special attention to dual SIM devices, as these are currently very popular in Asia and they could also become "wanted" in Europe and the US.

The new W599 comes in a compact candybar form factor, and its navigation keys are interestingly integrated as to form a circle. The phone does not have a hardware keypad, hence most of the data input is made through its 2.4 inch touchscreen display with 260K colors, a QVGA (240 x 320) resolution and handwriting recognition. Samsung W599 can operate on both CDMA and GSM networks and comes with dual SIM technology, allowing you to use two SIM cards at the same time, just like you would have owned two phones. Except these more than welcome features, Samsung W599 also offers FM radio, Music and Video players, Bluetooth, email, Instant Messaging, Wap browser, a 2 Megapixel camera, embedded games, 34MB of internal memory and microSD card support for several extra GBs. Samsung W599 will soon be available across China, branded under the AnyCall series, for a retail price of 4,490 yuan. This means around $640 or 405 Euro, which is kind of expensive. But then again, most of the dual-SIM handsets have a "higher than normal" price, and W599 is far from being an entry-level device after all.

Last week, Samsung has announced a slew of new phones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. One of which is the SGH-F480. F480 is a stylish slim candy bar mobile phone with combination of brushed aluminum and glossy black for the finishing.

The F480 really looks similar with PRADA phone. The F480 can stand next to the Prada and Armani phones with its head high up as it definitely looks great.Samsung SGH-F480s is a 3.5G capable device supporting HSDPA high speed data downloads of up to 7.2 Mbps. It also supports standard 3G (UMTS), GPRS and EDGE data, but it does not support WiFi. It features a 2.8″ large QVGA touch screen, video messaging, email, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth connectivity, mobile blogging, and a 5-megapixel camera equipped with auto-focus as well as image stabilization. The camera also has a slow motion function and built-in video editor.

Of course, as a multimedia player,SGH-F480 capable of playing back a variety of video and audio files. It also comes with a FM radio with RDS. There’s a microSD slot for memory expansion.

SAMSUNG Unveils Wide Touch Screen Multimedia Phone; The SAMSUNG F490

Two upcoming Samsung phones, the F490 and P720, were unveiled at some press event in the Ukraine a little while ago. These two fully touchscreen handset has been announced for release in early 2008.

Samsung F490 is a full touchscreen and slimline smart mobile phone with a silver exterior and 3.2 inches 240×432 pixels display. It has a 5 megapixel digital camera, tactile feedback and HSDPA connectivity. It doesn't seem to have a keyboard and looks like a direct competitor to Apple's iPhone.

The 3.2 inches TFT display will also be able to send you a signal touch on your finger when you select something on the menu at the terminal.

I have wrote about Nokia N95 last year. 1 year later, Nokia introduces their enhanced version of Nokia N95 with the same name Nokia N95 8GB. The 8GB Nokia N95 brings a plethora of internal memory to an already powerful smartphone.

The new Nokia N95 is an all-black mini storage machine which features a larger, 2.8-inch QVGA non-touch screen. It’s slightly bigger compared to the old N95. It is still a beast of a mobile weighing you down to the tune of 128g and measuring 53mm wide and 21mm thick. It is 99mm tall and when you open the slider to get at the number pad it grows to a staggering 130mm. If you are looking for neatness and slim handphone, this is definately out of your choice.It also comes with camera lens cover to make way for a larger battery. In addition, the Symbian device continues to offer integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 5-megapixel camera, and dedicated music controls. N95 8GB remains it’s â€˜dual slider’ concept. The number pad slides out of one end, and out of the other, a bank of four buttons for controlling music playback.

Thanks to the huge library of built-in software, 8GB of flash memory (plus another 100MB for messages, ringtones, images, video clips, calendar, to do lists and apps), the N95 8GB does come the closest I’ve seen yet to Nokia’s aspiration of putting a real computer in your pocket.

Sony Ericsson manufactures some pretty nifty audio-heavy handsets. The R300 Radio and R306 Radio are 2 latest addition to their growing stable of cell phones.

The Sony Ericsson R300 Radio is a smart looking and inexpensive candy bar phone that doubles as a very small portable FM/AM radio. The R300 is aimed at those customers who either don’t want a phone with an MP3 player or can’t afford one.

It’s a simple phone and has a basic 128 x 160 pixel display, a 0.3 megapixel resolution (VGA) camera, a WAP browser and Bluetooth. As you can see from the name, the handset have plenty to do with radios, enabling the user to tune-in to their favorite radio show on both AM and FM broadcasts.
The handset support of TrackID which allow user to know what song they’re listening to and by whom was it sung in an instant. They can record a clip of a song from an external source, such as a sound system in a coffee shop or bar, and find out within seconds who sang it, the name of the track and which album it is from.

An Audio Enhancer key allows you to activate volume boost when listening to the radio through the speakers or experience 3D sound enhancement when you groove via the stereo headset. With the R300 Radio you can listen-in via the stereo headphones provided or â€˜play it loudâ€™ thanks to the high performance speaker integrated into the phone.

Sony Ericsson say that the R300 should be available during Q2 2008, but did not give any guidance on price.
